Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
This is a small study I did to work out the color and composition for a large piece. The branches of the trees and their shadows seemed to break up the colorful leaves and patches of sunlight as a kaleidoscope would. This is one of my favorite places to walk along the greenway near the Roanoke River and I've enjoyed painting there with my painting buddies several times.

A 5 x 7 GEM, the little ones can be just as challenging as the large paintings, this is fine work Bonnie F
Bonnie Mason replied:
Thanks, Nancy! Yes, the little ones require their own sort of hard thinking :)

Bonnie, there is a wonderful feeling you get when walking down a country lane on a day like this, with the shadows dancing across the road and the warm golden sunlight glowing very gently all around. The smell of fresh air.. I can't really put the feeling into words, but you have captured it so wonderfully here! Just gorgeous! f/love! :D
