About Bonnie Mason
I grew up exploring the outdoors here in Southwest Virginia. My family would often go for long drives and end up hiking in the woods where my parents would identify plants and trees and point out animal tracks as they taught us to appreciate the awesomeness of God's creation. I can still remember the first time I saw a pink "Ladies Slipper" growing up out of a pile of leaves deep in a forest. Those adventures with my family still inspire my landscape paintings today but I'm also blessed with a group of friends who love to paint outdoors. Together, we've gone places -both physically and artistically- I'd never have gone alone.
Although my oil paintings are inspired by real places and things, my goal is to create a strong composition and sensation of light using painterly methods. I still have a lot to learn. Thanks for stopping by to view my work.
