Description

I've been working on the composition for a commissioned piece of McAfee Knob, which is on the Appalachian Trail (one of our National Parks) not far from Salem VA, and this was the first idea.

McAfee Knob is one of the most photographed overlooks on the Appalachian Trail and is featured in the movie "A Walk in the Woods" with Robert Redford. It's one of the majestic natural beauties just down the road from me.

McAfee Knob is on Catawba Mountain in Catawba, Virginia near Salem and Roanoke.
