McAfee Knob - Springtime on the Appalachian Trail metal print by Bonnie Mason. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. McAfee Knob is one of the most photographed overlooks on the Appalachian Trail and is featured in the movie "A Walk in the Woods" with Robert Redford. It's one of the majestic natural beauties just down the road from me.
McAfee Knob is on Catawba Mountain in Catawba, Virginia near Salem and Roanoke.

About Bonnie Mason
I grew up exploring the outdoors here in Southwest Virginia. My family would often go for long drives and end up hiking in the woods where my parents would identify plants and trees and point out animal tracks as they taught us to appreciate the awesomeness of God's creation. I can still remember the first time I saw a pink "Ladies Slipper" growing up out of a pile of leaves deep in a forest. Those adventures with my family still inspire my landscape paintings today but I'm also blessed with a group of friends who love to paint outdoors. Together, we've gone places -both physically and artistically- I'd never have gone alone. What a strong composition this is, with the shadow underneath the overhanging rock immediately capturing the viewer's attention, which then drifts over the peaceful landscape beyond. I love the blue shadows on the rock.
