This lovely spot is along Wolf Creek near Rocky Gap in Bland County Virginia. I'm not sure why a river is so evocative of peace and tranquility...maybe it's because it is evidence of how everything is connected and the cycle continues no matter how crazy things seem sometimes.

About Bonnie Mason
I grew up exploring the outdoors here in Southwest Virginia. My family would often go for long drives and end up hiking in the woods where my parents would identify plants and trees and point out animal tracks as they taught us to appreciate the awesomeness of God's creation. I can still remember the first time I saw a pink "Ladies Slipper" growing up out of a pile of leaves deep in a forest. Those adventures with my family still inspire my landscape paintings today but I'm also blessed with a group of friends who love to paint outdoors. Together, we've gone places -both physically and artistically- I'd never have gone alone.
