Artist's Description
Little Stony Creek at Peaks of Otter in Virginia was the inspiration for this painting. I paint with a fun group of ladies who love plein air painting as much as I do and this is one of our favorite places to go. There are so many beautiful views in every direction. If you like hiking you'll find some awesome trails there, too. Peaks of Otter Lodge is a great place to stop and stay awhile along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Be sure to check out their restaurant too which has good food and beautiful views of the lake and the peaks.

About Bonnie Mason
I grew up exploring the outdoors here in Southwest Virginia. My family would often go for long drives and end up hiking in the woods where my parents would identify plants and trees and point out animal tracks as they taught us to appreciate the awesomeness of God's creation. I can still remember the first time I saw a pink "Ladies Slipper" growing up out of a pile of leaves deep in a forest. Those adventures with my family still inspire my landscape paintings today but I'm also blessed with a group of friends who love to paint outdoors. Together, we've gone places -both physically and artistically- I'd never have gone alone.
